Organizers of the 2008 Relay for Life said thank you to everyone that participated in the 24-hour event May 31 and June 1 at Heritage Park in Taylor
A total of 47 teams raised more than $112,000 for the American Cancer Society, according to Team Development Chairwoman Sue Shufeldt. And that amount was expected to grow.
“Every team did a fantastic job with their sites and fund-raisers – and it helped that, besides the wind, the weather cooperated for a change,” Shufeldt said. “This year we had the most people I have seen continuing their laps during all the craziness of keeping sites running smoothly.”
